Tuesday 10-9-07

Today's plan was for a 7-8 mile quality run so I was out a little earlier for a longer, tougher run. I actually made 8.2 miles through Midtown Columbus, this run was one of the best in a while. With a time of 1:18, it was still a slow 9:30 pace but that was with three 1 minute walking sessions mixed in along the way. If I can keep the pain in my side at bay and toughen up my feet without hurting them, I may be able to run this marathon.

Do you walk during runs? I've always thought "real runners" never walked-or so it was in High School when I younger and dumber.

I used to think the same thing, but I read something the other day in Runners' World that said to use walking on long runs to help on endurance.
